what place did his horse finish? I've been trying to find out, but haven't found it on the web...

I think it ended up last, however, I think it was due to him being checked down the stretch and/or being cut off. The horse laid just off the lead until almost the quarter pole, but then faded a bit as other horses caught up. I think (and this is a total guess) that the fractions were a bit too fast for Ruguala and she tired. I'll talk to Grant on Monday to see whats up.
It was VERY cool to see him on national TV with his horse.

Hi Everybody
Thanks so much for all the great wishes and support. Unfortunately, we didn't fare too well but it was an amazing experience and although it sounds corny, a big accomplisment for me and my team to get to that race. The day was amazing with a record Oaks crowd of 111,000. Totally crazy followed by the second-largest derby crowd ever on Sat. of 156,000. I can't wait to see all of you and tell you about some of the experiences. You can also check out Dougie's report which should be up soon on his website www.lovedagoat.com. Incidentally there's also quite a funny interview with my brother on there right now. Hope you're all doing great and I'll be back in Seattle, uh make that Auburn, more often from now on. Cheers, Grant

Rachelle says...Nice work for making it all the way to the Kentucky Derby, Grant! That is awesome! We are so proud of you and are looking forward to having a beer and hearing all about it. You must come over for dinner ASAP.
