I cannot wait to see this! Be Kind Rewind will rule!

Vanity Fair prepares us for the next Indiana Jones movie. A great read.

First of all, Raiders of the Lost Ark is the best action movie ever made. The action is motivated by the characters pursuit of the "Maguffin" and therefore the audience believes. Secondly, the Indy movies have heart. We root for Indiana Jones because he isn't perfect, he doesn't know Karate, and he's not a secret agent. He's just a guy like you or me.
Reading this article reminded me of how excited I was as a kid every time one of these blockbusters came out, and, from the sound of the movie in this article, I am justified to get excited again.

The 2nd best action movie ever made is Alfred Hitchcock's North By Northwest, just FYI.

Is there a thing as too much snow?

Tonight: Snow. Snow accumulation of 6 to 12 inches. Snow level 2000 feet. Southwest wind in the passes 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday: Snow...heavy at times. Breezy. Snow accumulation of 10 to 20 inches. Snow level 1500 feet. Afternoon pass temperatures in the upper 20s. Southwest wind in the passes 15 to 25 mph.

Thursday Night: Snow...heavy at times. Snow accumulation 8 to 14 inches. Snow level 1000 feet. Southwest wind in the passes 10 to 15 mph.

Yes, that's 2-4 feet of snow in 36 hours!

Falling Slowly from Once WILL be an Oscar nominee...and should win if there is justice in the world.

Snoqualmie Pass Is Closed...again.

My buddy Todd was stuck up there all day today due to a major avalanche but said he took seven runs at Ski Acres by himself. As in just him and 20 inches of powder. Solo. A dream day until he was stuck. But he made the most of it and took ten runs at West (all powder runs of course).

Band To Watch: Helvetia

Watch Radiohead’s 93 Feet East gig here in its entirety

How can a band really be this good for so long? How can they be so good live? It's not fair. There isn't another band that comes close.

Netflix expands Internet viewing option

This is pretty darn fantastic. I had no idea the streaming service even existed, let alone that I could watch them with my current subscription. Only problem: it's PC only. I am sure that will change soon.

We had a wonderful time in Maui. Our anniversary dinner was a wine filled fiesta, the Tiff organized New Years party had the best appetizers I have ever tasted, the waves at Makena were awesome for skimboarding, the turtle snorkeling was immensely spiritual, and, with the exception of one day, the weather was hot. But most of all I enjoyed playing with the kids in the pool. Experiencing paradise through a child's eyes is almost like experiencing it all over again for yourself. See you all in five years!

Eddie Vedder's First Solo Video

A great MLB trade rumors site

M's stuff:

Erik Bedard Rumors: Mariners, Reds, Indians

Erik Bedard staying put in Baltimore this winter? Maybe not. Ken Rosenthal and Jason Churchill both busted out brand new material this evening with the latest Bedard chatter. The upshot is that the Mariners seem to have a decent shot at him.

  • Rosenthal says the Mariners will put Adam Jones, Jeff Clement, and Matt Tuiasosopo in the deal. He indicates that the Orioles could push to substitute and get one of Tony Butler, Chris Tillman, and Carlos Triunfel. Looks like Bill Bavasi is sticking to the idea of keeping Brandon Morrow. Rosenthal hedges his bets, but admits to "growing indications that the teams could be moving closer to a deal."
  • Churchill says something similar: the Mariners and Orioles "may very well be making significant progress." Churchill sees a package of Jones, Triunfel, and George Sherrill as the likely scenario.
  • Baseball Prospectus' Kevin Goldstein recently listed his Top 11 Prospects for the Mariners. Clement was a five-star, Tillman and Triunfel four-stars, Butler a two-star, and Tuiasosopo an honorable mention. Jones would be first were he still considered a prospect.
  • Both Ohio teams have interest in Bedard as well, but a trade to the Indians or Reds seems less likely. The Reds still won't give up Jay Bruce.
