The Sopranos Finale
Many will be disappointed by the Sopranos finale. I for one am not at all troubled by the ambiguous ending.
Did Tony get whacked from the guy going into the bathroom to retrieve a gun a la Godfather I? Or maybe he was just a regular guy who had a staring problem.
Did the gangstas get the whole family or were they just patrons?
Did something terrible happen as Meadow entered the door of the restaurant?
You can decide.
Update: Or maybe not? David Chase has hinted there are clues in the finale. Read here.

Maybe they were teeing up a movie, or maybe we were supposed to feel the angst that bedevils Tony every day.
I personally think the ending was terrible and showed an inability to tie up way too many story lines.
Can someone say Seinfeld disappointment?
I think David Chase proved he could tie up story lines quite effectively over the last seven years (Phil getting shot AND having his head ran over comes to mind), but I love that we don't know the future for the Soprano family. It's so cool because everyone expects all conflicts to be resolved, all characters to have definitive paths, and destinations in life to be pre-determined. But life isn't like that and this ending reflects the unkown. Can't wait to watch it again.
Maybe you could play it backwards on DVD and hear the devil talk to you...
