White Stripes will play two days at the Paramount in September.
I have created Kicked It In the Sun in the hopes of creating a forum where we can all discuss sports, music, movies, and politics etc. A few times a week I will add links to any articles or videos etc for your enjoyment. Please email me with any links to anything you think others would appreciate as well. On the right hand side I have included links to websites I check on a daily basis.
I would love to talk to anyone that was there!

Andre's wife Kirsten has created a website in Andre's honor. Click here to look at some pictures and sign the guest book. You can also make a donation to the memorial fund in Andre's name.
There were many people at the Gaslamp in Issaquah tonight and there some great Andre stories shared by all. I don't want to leave anyone out, but I remember seeing or talking to Cheryl, Monica, Carrie, Jan, Kim, Christine, Amy, Scott, Larry, Mark, Regina, Scott Burbage, Andy, Nicole, Regina, Jana, and Neil. I am sure there were more people than that, but it's 1:30 in the morning and this new dad hasn't stayed up this late since 2006 and my memory is shaky at best. The bottom line is that it was nice for so many people to show up and tell everyone how much Andre meant to them. I know Tyson Storey flew down to Utah to show his support and I think Mike Scott and his wife went too. Please tell the family members in Utah that our thoughts and prayers our with them.

A group of people will be gathering at the Gaslamp in Issaquah tomorrow night to share Andre stories. This will happen for sure and we would like it to be known that anyone is welcome. It doesn't matter if you you know Andre from Issaquah, Ellensburg, Utah, or anywhere else. Please come and celebrate his life.
9:00 at the Gaslamp. It's only a two-minute drive south off of the Lake Sammamish exit in Issaquah.
Please forward this to Andre's friends.

The link above explains the details.
Andre and I spent a week in Hawaii together before sophomore year in high school and we ended up hanging out at CWU quite a bit. We both basically lived at or hung out at the two "party" houses, although he and Mike had the cooler pad with the pool table. Andre was the one guy who really encouraged me to take up snowboarding and he helped me adjust my settings numerous times so that I would be comfortable enough to stick with it. (I had no idea what the proper technique or foot placement should be. Nor did I have any idea how much I would love it). He was so damn cool about helping out a rookie.
From what I understand he LOVED climbing and if you google search you will find his comments all over climbing sites.
Our thoughts are with his family and with Kirsten and her family.
There are tentative plans to meet Friday night in Issaquah to share stories about Andre. I'll post more as soon as I know more. It looks like 9:00 at the Gaslamp might happen.
A couple people have emailed me and somebody mentioned it in the comments, but I would love to post any pictures of Dre from high school, college, or post-college. Please let me know if you have any.
